Outdoor Education

In addition to the many SVDP Out and About field trips, outdoor education is an integral part of our academic program. The opportunity for specialized study and social-emotional growth is presented on these overnight trips.

Students in grades 4, 6 and 8 participate in an outdoor education program.

The 8th grade class attends Westminster Woods Camp, a leadership camp located in Occidental, CA.

Our 6th also participates in a five-day science program at Caritas Creek.

Students in 4th grade attend the three-day Coloma Outdoor Discovery School near Sacramento, which emphasizes the California Gold Rush experience.

Each of these excursions provides our students with a unique experience that cannot be replicated in the classroom. All students are required to attend.
